Dear Simona,
This is a belated thank you for the way you and all your colleagues in Visit Lithuania assisted us in organizing a marvellous one month family vacation this past summer, in various vacation cottages in Aukstaitija, Dzukija, and the Trakai district. You catered to all preferences and multiple requests , your recommendations were excellent, the efficiency of your office was remarkable, and your personal friendliness and that of the members of your team were very special.
And the " cherry on the cake" was even being able to supply us at the very last minute, with a 7 seat car under excellent rental conditions and a gps with hotspot properties that enabled us to be wifi connected throughout the trip, whether in the car itself or in spots where there was only sporadic internet accessibility.

Dear Simona and VISIT LITHUANIA team,

I am writing to tell you what a wonderful trip we had visiting Lithuania this past June!!! My father, Albert Kaminsky, enjoyed seeing Lithuania and seeing his parents "roots" area! My niece, Sarah, and I enjoyed our visit as well!! Our itinerary was well thought out and we loved seeing all the areas and sights that we visited. everything was perfect!!! Our guide and translator Gediminas Sukutis was exceptional- he was a wonderful guide and was so good to all of us, especially my dad!!! Thank you for everything and I cannot wait to come back and visit!!!!! You did a great job!!!!

P.S. all the sights and visits were interesting- the guides were great- my favorite spot was NIDA!!!

Best!!

Dear Vaida,

I cannot thank you enough for your help planning our vacation in Lithuania and Russia. You were incredibly helpful in recommending and booking our hotels, restaurants, rental car, tour guide, airport transfers and airfare. And you even dropped by our hotel to say hello in person, and arranged for us to have a GPS for our rental car. I cannot imagine a better travel agent. Thank you so very much!!

Thank you again!
Warmest wishes,
Susan

Dear Simona,

We enjoyed our trip very much. The journey on Tuesday was very comfortable- everything was very efficient in terms of the booking arrangements and collection at the hostel, and the boys had a great time at both the adventure park and aquapark- good value for money. The driver did get a little lost trying to find the road down to the adventure park but we weren’t concerned, we would have got even more lost ourselves without him, and having the minibus rather than having to use public transport was much more convenient.

Thursday was excellent- our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, the tours were very informative and we had a good range of activities that day and enough time at each venue; we particularly enjoyed our soviet prison experience!!

Thanks again for organising everything,
David

PS we would particularly recommend the Fortuna/Old Town Hostels in Vilnius and also Klaipeda Hostel.

Hi Simona,

We had a fantastic time! You planned it so well - with something beekeeping and something about Lithuania every day. Because Lukas was such a wonderful guide, we even got beekeeping information our first day during our city tour of Vilnius. Having uncles who are beekeepers made him eager and interested and he had read up on beekeeping history of Lithuania as well. We are saying very positive things about our experience to our friends. It was a wonderful time.

Hi Simona,
Some of us are back home – some are still exploring other countries – but all of us are cherishing the experience we had in Lithuania. It was an awesome trip to the homeland of our grandparents. Our guides were all exceptional, especially Virginia. They guided us to beautiful places and taught us so much about the history and culture of your country.
We were also pleased with all of the accommodations that you planned for us along the way.
Our visit with our family at the homestead was something that touched all of us and was a highlight of the trip.
Thank you for helping to make our trip so memorable.

Dear Simona:
I myself was very pleased with the arrangements you had made for us. Our rooms where very nice. You know the only reason I came to Lithuania was to see where my family lived. Our driver was exceptional he took us to where the family was suppose to be from, and I found two first cousins in two different areas. Thus my trip was complete in my mind.
I do believe the girls had a great time and enjoyed all of the site seeing trips and guides you had provided for them. I would like to plan an other trip but my wife only looks at me funny because I'm going 86 years young this October.
Many Thanks,
Albert

Hello Simona,

I talked with a friend from Denver, Colorado who grew up In Kaunas and was recently there. She said people are going to the Malls and are neglecting Laisves Aleja. I feel bad that my family did not like Kaunas. I think if I took them instead to the Acropolis to have dinner upstairs while watching the Ice Skating, then they would have liked it all better. We were very busy doing the old history and old cities, etc. I think we should have had one visit to a modern large Mall like the Acropolis so they could see the modern Lithuania too. Of course the Waterpark was a big hit with all of them. They said they all had fun and enjoyed their visit through the whole country. . Lauren loved being dressed in a National Costume at Rums'iskas. They tried walking on stilts there and using the bow and arrows. I myself visited Lithuania when they first became free so I know that great strides have been made in your country and I am proud of all of you.
Vilnius is beautiful. They all loved it and wished they had more time to explore it. Everyone enjoyed making the buckwheat pierogi and eating it too. Sherri loved Druskininkai, which is more beautiful than ever. We also enjoyed spending some time at Vies'vile Orphanage and could see that the children are well cared for, living as normal as possible. Our kids were In awe that each child had his own computer in the family group that we visited. The village itself is lovely with a lovely park. We met kind and nice people wherever we went. The family was greatly impressed with the beautiful cemeteries, like works of art. The food was very good,,and so artfully arranged. We were never hungry, just well fed. Flowers are everywhere. Sherri said Lithuania is the cleanest country that she has ever seen. Lithuania is kid friendly. They enjoyed it all. HBH Juozo Alus was quite interesting and fun for them, as well as Raganu Kalnu. It is difficult to pick a best place because each place was special. My family was greatly impressed with the Hill of Crosses. I gave each a cross to leave there. Of course, Trakai was a favorite and Kernave, where the girls bought wooden swords that they will paint and decorate here at home. They liked the marshmallows on the farms,,,the hay wrapped up In white plastic, and the John Deere Tractors, climbing castles. Needless to say, our family was never bored in Lithuania. We have wonderful memories. Going over the pictures make them all squeal and we have not developed all of them yet.
As far as what to improve. I think a small stool should be kept in all buses for us "old" people, or for those of us who have some limitations. Thank you all for taking such good care of me. I came through just fine. I am so glad that I went while I was younger and able to climb hills and many steps. So I did not mind waiting for them at times when it was a bit much for me, as the Kernave Hills were. In Nida, some time should be spent to shop at the lovely shops. The bus could bypass touring the villages on the Bayside. A visit to the Baltic Sea where it is close to the water and has toilet facilities was a good place to stop on the way to Nida, other than Raganu Kalnu. The breakfasts were excellent, but I missed the Lithuanian sausages and black bread. The children asked if Lithuania has its' own music because all we heard was music in English. I assures them that they have many types of good music.
All in all, your firm is terrific and very accommodating. We absolutely loved experiencing Lithuania, it's history, culture, language, cities, villages, and people.
Didiles ac'iu.

Hi Simona

We would like to thank you for arranging an excellent trip for us to the Baltics. The itinerary was excellent - the places visited, the sites, the hotels - and the restaurant suggestions in Vilinius! We will strongly recommend that our friends visit the Baltics and in particular that they contact Simona at Visit Lithuania to arrange the trip.

With respect to our guide, Loreta is knowledgeable and friendly. We are independent travelers and rarely make use of guides. We are used to being on the go from the time we get up until the end of the day. Guides are more used to travelers who take a somewhat more leisurely pace. Because we had limited time and were unsure about the language and the transportation system we chose to go with a guide. Now that we have been there, we feel confident that we could handle getting around ourselves. Next time, we will ask you to make all the arrangements but with a rental car.

Sincerely

Judy and Jerry Goldstein
