General terms and conditions

Age restrictions and exceptions

The minimum age for rentals in Lithuania is 22 years for all vehicle groups. All drivers under 25 years will be charged a young driver's surcharge of EUR 8.00 (excluding tax) per day.

Child seats

Hertz offers safety seats for children from birth to 3 years for all vehicle groups and from all locations.

 The additional fee is EUR 8.00 (excluding tax) per day with a maximum of EUR 80.00 (excluding tax) per rental.

If the seat is not returned the amount of EUR 150.00 (excluding tax) will be added to your rental.

 Contract fee

A Vehicle Licensing Fee / Road Tax, known as "Contract Fee" in Lithuania is a mandatory charge that applies to all rentals. 

Drivers license

The driver must present a valid national driver's licence held for a minimum of one year at the time of rental. 

Grace period

The grace period for Lithuania is 59 minutes 

Methods of payment

Acceptable credit cards are: H.C.C., Air Travel Card, American Express, Diners Club, Japanese Credit Bureau, Mastercard/Eurocard, Moevenpick, VISA Card. 

One-way rentals

One-way rentals to Tallinn, Riga and Warsaw are allowed from all locations in Lithuania with additional charges ranging from EUR 101.00 to EUR 145.00 (excluding tax). 

Refueling options

All Hertz vehicles are rented with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank or a local refuelling charge will apply. 

Taxes

All rates are subject to a Government tax (VAT) at the rate of 18%.

Insurances 

Collision damage waiver

CDW Non-Waivable Excess. All rentals are subject to a non-waivable excess of EUR 464.00 for which you are responsible in the event of damage to the Hertz vehicle during the rental, regardless of fault. 

Theft protection

TP non-waivable excess.

All rentals are subject to a non-waivable excess in the amount of EUR 464.00 for which you are responsible in case of loss or theft of the Hertz vehicle during the rental. 

Supper collision damage waiver

With CDW, you may also wish to purchase an additional protection, Super CDW (SCDW), to waive the already limited liability in case of damage to the Hertz vehicle, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.

 Super CDW (SCDW) is not available when the main driver is less than 25 years old or for customers on business contract rate rentals.

 Super CDW (SCDW) can only be purchased at time of pick-up and does not cover theft, windscreen damage or vandalism. 

Personal accident insurance

This option covers the authorised drivers and passengers.
