“Nemuno linija” was founded in 2004 to safeguard unique construction high-speed hydrofoil riverboats and revitalize waterway between Kaunas and Nida. We are committed to popularizing this unprecedented water road of 240 km (150 miles) length.
“Nemuno linija” provides regularly scheduled tours, group and private charters. Travel time – approximately 4 hours.
“Nemuno linija” operates two legendary “Rocket” type, high-speed hydrofoil riverboats “Aistė” and “Lina” and other two vessels “Kristė” and “Gintė”. These uniquely built hydrofoil boats were first launched in 1957 in Soviet Union. Their manufacturing continued until the early 1970s.
Both vessels - “Aistė” and “Kristė” - are newly renovated and meet all passengers’ safety standards. While comfortably sitting in the chair, passengers can admire picturesque shores of Neman River, sip their favorite drinks and enjoy delicious food. Moreover, ships are conveniently equipped with sound and video systems (DVD). Microphone is available upon request.
In 2007 “Nemuno linija” has obtained its license No. 00023 for unspecified period. It was provided by Lithuanian Marine Inspection (institution responsible for issuance of permissions to carry the passengers on Lithuanian inner waters).
Our vessels are perfect for seminars and conferences, company outings, birthday parties, anniversaries, baptism and wedding receptions. During the trip passengers can take pictures and record videos.
Company employs six highly skilled professional captains, who will safely transport you from Kaunas to Nida and back.
The route launches at Kaunas passenger dock, located at Raudondvaris road 107, Kaunas, Lithuania, adjacent to entertainment center “Combo”. Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania and a former temporary capital. Kaunas is located at the confluence of the two largest Lithuanian rivers, the Neman and the Neris. The route ends in Nida, cozy small resort town with beautiful golden sand beaches.
We will navigate on the largest Lithuanian river Neman and Curonian Lagoon. The total length of the Neman is 937 km (582 miles), from which 359 km (223 miles) flow in Lithuania. The Neman has about 180 tributaries. Right tributaries are as follows: Usa, Sula, Katra, Merkys, Verknė, Strėva, Neris, Nevėžis, Dubysa, Mituva, Jūra, Gėgė, Minija. Left tributaries are Ščara, Baltoji Ančia, Dovinė, Jiesia, Šešupė.
Trip takes from three and a half to four hours each way (Kaunas to Nida, Nida to Kaunas). Nida is 240 km (150 miles) away from Kaunas by water, from which approx. 30 km (19 miles) go through Curonian Lagoon.
Nida town is located on the magnificent Curonian Spit, a 98 km (61 miles) long, thin, curved sand-dune spit that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. The northern 52 km (32 miles) long stretch of the Curonian Spit peninsula belongs to Lithuania, while the rest is part of the Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia.
During the private charters from Kaunas to Nida and back, boat makes stops in Jurbarkas and/or Rusnė upon request, though during regularly scheduled trips these stops are not performed.
While traveling with “Nemuno linija”, you will be able to spoil your eyes with delightful views: twisty shores of the Neman River, monuments reminiscent of glorious Lithuanian history and peaceful fishermen villages.
