Vilkaviskis is located at the joining of the Seimena and Vilkauja rivers. The town is just 4 km. far from the Kaunas - Kybartai railroad. A settlement named Vilkaviskis was founded in the XVI century. The town was almost completely destroyed in the World War II, and rebuilt in the late 1960s.
